Why does pony not like dally

Dally expresses this innate loyalty through acts of self-sacrifice. Additionally, Johnny thinks of Dally as a man of honor, someone who will never betray a fellow Greaser. In the book The Outsiders, by S. Hinton, Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally can be described as heroes because they are not afraid to step up, and help people. Similarly Johnny is a hero because he used his heroic qualities to help people.

Finally Dally is a hero because of his kind and heroic actions towards Johnny. Dally is smart, but also at the same time he is not. Dally thinks of pony boy like the rest of the greasers.

They are buds who like to be around eachother! Except Dally likes johnny the best because johnny is like his pet. Pony realizes he doesn't like Dally because,he's not like everyone else and he's to human and real unlike the rest of the greasers. Because pony thinks dally can do anything. He realizes he likes soda, johnny, and darry for qualities that he sees in book characters. Dally is too real, which pony realizes while talking with johnny about who was more like the southern gentlemen in "gone with the wind".

Pony is only interested in hanging out with Dallas Winston because he is close to his best friend, Johnny Cade. Dally was very proud of the violence he had done in the past and was definitely who he wanted to stand by in a rumble.

Pony vigorously disagreed with Johnny Cade's assessment of Dally which likened him to the southern aristocrats in "Gone With the Wind". Johnny and ponyboy differ from dally because johnny and ponyboy aren't "tuff" like dally is. Dally has a mean and rough look to him unlike pony and johnny, and dally's eyes show that he has seeen things no other person has.

In the Outsiders, Pony describes Dally as being a person who made a difference on pg. He also mentions all that Dally risked to help Pony and Johnny, even though it was putting himself at risk. Like ponyboy. The church was on fire and little kids were trapped inside and pony boy and johnny went in to get them then once all of the kids were out johnny threw out pony boy and dally hit pony on the back and he dropped like he was dead and then dally went in to save johnny who got hit in the back with a bunning piece of wood that came down from the church roof and then dally burnet his arm and all three of them went to the hospital and Tim sheperd was in the ambulance with ponyboy.

I think that Cherry chose to associate with the greasers because she liked Pony and Dally a lot. She also feels similar and doesnt really like how the Socs are always fighting. Because dally was being mean to her. Dally's view of Pony at the beginning of the novel did was that he was a young, and not at all tough.

Dally then experiences Ponyboy change in to a tough and brave greaser. This is shown as Pony describes Dally as someone who he 'didn't like him, but he was smart and you had to respect him. But then he changes into a tough member of the group when there is a fire in both the book and the movie Johnny and Pony run in and save the kids and Dallas gets angry with Johnny for doing this and this is because he wouldn't have done it even though he is meant to be the brave greaser instead Johnny and Ponyboy did and they're meant to be the weak ones of the group this shows a drastic change in Ponyboy.

Log in. The Outsiders. See Answer. Best Answer. Study guides. Finally Dally is a hero because of his kind and heroic actions towards Johnny. He wants to have a gun so that he can at least bluff his way out of trouble. Heater Heat is a slang term used to refer to guns. When a gun is fired it heats up, hence the term heater. Though people mostly refer to handguns as heaters, all guns are considered heaters. If a machine gun with large mag is fired repeatedly it might even catch fire.

Johnny views Dally as a hero because he is willing to accept punishment and take the blame for his friends.
