Why does wwe censor wwf

This was the era that allowed smaller, more athletic superstars such as Eddie Guerrero , Chris Benoit , Rey Mysterio , Jeff Hardy and CM Punk to rise above the stigma that smaller wrestlers can't draw and earn their spot as true main eventers and world champions. This was also the era that slowly legitimized women's wrestling in North America after so many years of glorified models competing in Catfights and Bra-and-Panties matches across most if not all North American promotions.

Trish Stratus , Lita , and Torrie Wilson went from inexperienced valet managers to solid full-fledged competitors, while more experienced wrestlers such as Ivory , Jacqueline , Jazz and Molly Holly helped carry them along while proving their own worth to the WWE audience. The Ruthless Aggression era was not without its faults, however.

From the tasteless "Katie Vick" necrophilia storyline, to Triple H's Reign of Terror on RAW, the decision to have him beat Booker T despite racist elements used in the build-up, to the WWE Diva Search bringing more untrained models to halt the progress of women's wrestling, to Muhammad Hassan 's protest for equality quickly turning him into the stereotype that he said that he wasn't and getting him into hot water following the deadly terrorist bombings that hit London in July , and the use of Rape as Drama , there were plenty of cons to go with the pros.

WWE would subsequently erase all mention of Benoit in their archives. Following the Benoit tragedy, government and media scrutiny increased tenfold in response to the growing trend of injuries, addictions and premature deaths among pro wrestlers.

Thus, it became apparent to the higher ups that the Ruthless Aggression Era had ran its course. By mid, WWE became Lighter and Softer in order to become family-friendly once again and mitigate injuries and drug abuse among wrestlers, hopefully preventing another Benoit situation from happening.

Luckily for them, WWE had a kid-friendly star in John Cena who would carry them through a family-friendly era and would become their modern-day Hulk Hogan. Why does WWE dont talk about wwf? Edit: After reading a little bit more into this, they apparently can still use the old school WWF logo's in DVD's but not the attitude ones, as Taker4Ever pointed out before.

Not sure why this is so but it is allowed. The C. Hicks likes this. Hicks Dark Match Jobber. Joined: Feb 19, Messages: 23 Likes Received: 3. Vee Dub hit it right on the head basically. It's a stupid judgement even though WWE did mess up. They can't use the Attitude WWF logo because that one in particular was the logo being used once the case was filed in addition to it being the one used when WWE violated the agreement. While WWE was clearly wrong, I do find it ridiculous that they are forced to edit old footage and commentary so that "WWF" is neither seen nor heard.

That's a bit extreme not to mention distracting. Hicks , May 3, Scott Free The man of a thousand rest holds. Joined: Feb 9, Messages: Likes Received: Kelly Kelly. Vince McMahon came off of a successful trial against the Federal Governement for providing his guys with steroids and he won the case.

The Federal Government has something in the area of 90plus percent conviction rate, so McMahon is a rare gem indeed to stand up and win. So if we have learned anythign about the name McMahon, the word Ego isn't too far behind.
